RnPT CEO Speaks at Korea's Startup Legal Advisory Launch Event

RnPT CEO Youju Jo participated in the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Startup Legal Advisory MOU Ceremony and Launch Event, sharing firsthand feedback on how free legal support has helped RnPT navigate overseas expansion challenges.

Overview

The Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups held the Startup Overseas Legal Advisory MOU Ceremony and Legal Advisory Panel Launch Event on July 2, 2024, at Front One in Seoul's Mapo district. RnPT CEO Youju Jo was among the startup representatives who attended and shared feedback on the program's impact.

About the Initiative

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups signed MOUs with four of Korea's leading law firms to establish a structured legal support framework for startups pursuing global expansion:

  • Kim & Chang (김·장 법률사무소)
  • Bae, Kim & Lee LLC (법무법인 광장)
  • Boryung (법무법인 태평양)
  • Shin & Kim (법무법인 세종)

The initiative provides startups with free legal advisory services covering contract review, intellectual property protection, overseas regulatory compliance, and other legal challenges encountered during global market entry.

The Legal Advisory Panel

At the launch ceremony, 58 specialist attorneys were officially appointed to the Startup Legal Advisory Panel — lawyers with expertise across the full range of issues startups face, from labor and investment to contracts and IP. The panel was established to provide both general and in-depth legal consultations to early-stage companies, delivered through an online platform.

Minister Oh Young-joo stated at the ceremony:

"We expect the advisory panel to provide a wide range of support from the earliest stages of new ventures — helping startups successfully build and advance their businesses in the real world."

RnPT's Role and Feedback

RnPT CEO Youju Jo was invited as a startup representative to share the company's experience with the legal advisory program. She noted that access to legal documentation and attorney opinion letters — tailored to the specific regulatory and business challenges RnPT faces in overseas expansion — had been highly valuable.

"Having access to legal evidence and attorney opinions that directly address the challenges of building a new industry has been a great help," said CEO Youju Jo. "We hope to see even deeper, more specialized support as startups like us continue to pioneer new markets and industries."

Why This Matters for RnPT

As RnPT scales KRACE into the US and other international markets, navigating cross-border legal frameworks — from healthcare regulations and data privacy standards to international contracts and IP protection — is a core operational requirement. Access to top-tier legal counsel through this government-backed program directly supports RnPT's global expansion strategy.

About the Program

The Startup Legal Advisory Program was established following the February 2024 Public Welfare Forum, where the need for dedicated legal support for new-industry startups was formally identified. The online advisory service launched in April 2024, with the July ceremony marking the formal expansion and institutionalization of the initiative.
